This is Nasali Sylvia, a strong Ugandan woman who for some time has attended Nyenga Foundation`s microfinance program. She started with a loan of 200.000 Ugd shillings (approx. NOK 520, -), an amount that made it possible for her to buy second hand clothes and sell it to community members.
Her activities extended to coffee production and because of her success in business; Sylvia finally bought a sewing machine. She identified a need to make school uniforms for children in addition to renewing old cloths.
Sylvia has a daily income from this sewing machine which in turn allows her to cover the family’s basic needs, a family of seven children and a retired husband. Her greatest desire and goal for the future is that her children will get an education.
