Ruth came to Norway in the beginning of June. It was good having her with us for a little over a week. Together with the board she had a productive working weekend. We took time to look back at our accomplishments, as this is our five-year anniversary, but also made plans for the future. The buildings at Nyenga are all in place. Now we wish to focus on what goes on in these buildings. We want to focus on capacity building. This means we are going to invest funds in raising the quality on the services we offer in the local environment. We will keep you updated as the plans are put out into action. It’s an exciting phase we are entering!
The trips to Norway are busy for Ruth. We made visits to supporting schools, organizations interested in cooperation, subgroups of the board working from Norway and devoted time to discuss the challenges we are facing, amongst others. There were many who wished to meet Ruth, and she now has several acquaintances in Norway. The week was rounded off with an open gathering together with friends of Nyenga. It has become a wonderful group! – and there’s room for more. Thanks to all who in some way contributed to making Ruth’s stay constructive both to her and the foundation.
We are already looking forward to next time.
